One of the nurses at my workplace is going to retire shortly and i'd like to make her a retirement cake with a nurses cap on it made of fondant. The only trouble is I don't have a pattern for a nurses cap, you think I would being a nurse but i don't, if anyone could help me that would be great. ![]()

Do y'all miss the days when the nurses dressed in white and wore those hats? I do. Now days you can't tell the doctors and nurses from the orderlies. (Not knocking orderlies, but you know what I mean). I loved the crisp white clean look of the nurses.
A little off the topic, i know, but having a bit of nostalgia I guess.

To answer your question "YES! I do!" Why? Because I WAS one of those nurses that wore crisp white and my cap! The first time I wore white "scrubs" to work was when I was working ER and it was allowed. I got "pulled" to work a regular medical floor and the House Supervisor saw me. I got pulled into the office and questioned as to why I was "out of uniform" LOLL She, of course, accepted my explanation.
Ah, The Good Ole' Days!

Most of the nurses I work with say the same thing they miss the way things used to be when it comes to the uniforms. They all looked so professional, clean and they stood out, you knew who the nurses were. Now everyone blends in with everyone else and you don't know who's, who.
