My daughter teaches 5th grade computers and math. She wants a cake for March 14 - Pi day (math) - for her class. I'm stumped. Any cleaver ideas? TIA.

How about piping pi (symbol) = 3.14 ..... around the entire top of the cake. You can put a big "pi" symbol in the middle of the cake and the numerical equivalent wrapping around the center until you get to the edge of the cake. You'd need to look up the 3.14 string of numbers, but I think it's long enough so that you can go around until you get to the edge of the cake. Make any sense to you?

Thinking out loud.... icon_cool.gif

Use a square cake decorated like a pie. "Pie Are Squared"

or print different words on the cake for "PI" (PIe, PInata, PIzza, PIna colada, etc)

GOOD LUCK!! icon_biggrin.gif

if you're into cookies...you could make pie slice shaped cookies and use pi signs for the pie filling icon_biggrin.gif

Thank you all. Not sure yet what it will be. May do Dr. Seuss on May 2 instead.

could you make a 9x13 and sculpt a pi symbol out of it, and use that? the excess cake can be made into cake balls or something.
