First thing that came to my mind was: poodle skirts and saddle shoes!

For a lingerie shower, have you thought of making a heart shaped lingerie cake with those old fashioned B-52/rocket shaped bras.

(Or think Madonna on one of her tours....)

i did a 50's theme (in my pics) i used that pink and turquois color combo that was really popular then. can you do edible images? maybe a pinup girl image on the quarter sheet, was it the 50's they were popular or earlier? i'm not sure.

I don't know if this will help, but I did a hip hop cake (see my photos). You could do something similar, but instead of putting a hat on top, maybe a bra and a poodle skirt hanging off the top.

If you do a search on 'record', 'music' and 'notes', you may get some ideas here on CC website.

Good luck! icon_smile.gif

Hi there...how are you? I did a take off on the Just Fab cake....

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=allby&uname=adven68&cat=0&pos=41

basically, I used the idea of a checkerboard.....I think if you do that on a sheet cake, and maybe do one figure in fondant or BCT, that would do the trick. I had sketched a girly 50's cake that I never made, but maybe you can get some ideas from it...here's the photo...

When I think of the 50's, I think of the old show "Lavergne and Shirley". icon_cool.gif So with that in mind, how about a tiered cake (2-3). All black and white checks, with a pink poodle skirt draped off the top, a pair of black cat-rimmed glasses on top of the skirt, one or or two 45 records randomly placed (leaning upright), her initial in cursive (like Lavergne's "L" on her sweater).

This may give you some ideas . . . hope it helps!! Good luck . . . and be sure to post your final cake!!! thumbs_up.gif

Love the sketch you did adven68!

Here's a 50s cake I did, it replicated their party decor, but maybe you can find something here?
