Romance In The Afternoon
this cake was ordered by a Quilt shop. The owner teaches a class called "Romance in the Afternoon" and this particular class was called "Tea and Loveletters". I was given the colors for the quilt block they were working on and this is what I came up with. Not my favorite color scheme but they were blown away so that was nice :)

New Offices
Here is the absolute fastest cake I have ever made - I went to see my husbands marketing company yesterday. They have recently changed location and I could tell they weren't too happy with the new offices so I thought I'd make them a cake. I did this cake from start to finish in just about 6 hours and that is way less than I normally spend. It shows - I'm not proud of this cake but one thing I've learned when showing my cakes, people who have never had a cake like that are always blown away! Luckily!

Forget-Me-Not Ball
This is my first three tiered cake - not too much difference but still a learning experiment. I did this cake for a Silent Auction for Alzheimers - hence the mask. I gave it away not to be donated but for dessert. I made over a thousand little forgetmenots which was the biggest timeconsumer in my cake decorating life! The mask is a replica of the one on the invitation - a total copy and it turned out perfect. I was very pleased!

Lola
So this is my first cake in 4 months! My daughter is turning 4 today and we're having a Charlie and Lola party for her! I don't know how many of you know of Charlie and Lola, but they are huge in the UK and since we are holding on to anything British they are huge with us too! The ladybird is from "Beetles, Bugs and Butterflies!"

The Race
Crumbs, this was a hard cake to design and make ... I can't quite deside whether I like it or not! The lady asked for a cake for 4 celebrations - a 60th, a 40th, a 10th and a 5th! The older boys love jeeps and the 10 year old is a ski jumper and the 5 year old loves trains ... So this is what I came up with - she's picking up the cake in a few hours ... slightly worried if she'll like it!

A Boy And His Elephant
It's been months since I've made a cake - can't really seem to find any enthusiasm but I sort of got the bug today when I modelled this little fellow - I borrowed from Aine2 whose cakes I just love! The cake is covered in MMF and the rest is Wilton fondant - I HATE this MMF and won't do it again because I get SO angry when it doesn't work properly - and cakedecorating should be fun shouldn't it!
