I add gum-tex to MMF, if I am making a bow or something that needs to harden. My MMF doesn't get hard enough if I don't add it.

I added it once to see what would happened it seemed to work ...but then with what I was doing it probably would have held up either way.
i added gumtex to my plain MMF (no gum tragacanth) it became crumbly and has no stretch at all. i also added some gel paste color to a portion and it was squishy and crumbly at the same time. the gumtex i bought is not white and it smells like vinegar, it that normal? also since it's not white, i guess i cant use it on white fondant as it makes it look dirty. this is my first time working with MMF and gumtex, i have worked with satin ice and tylose before to make chacters. please help!!! what am i doing wrong? i just want to make some little figures made of MMF instead of a premade fondant. thank you.
