I have a chance to do a few Christmas craft sales and I thought I would sell cakeballs so I am interested in knowing what I should sell them for and how many per package.

That's a good idea...but cakeballs never last long enough in my house. "CakeBall Bonus" for DH
I have not sold them at a fair but I have sold a couple dozen to some friends. I sell them for $5.-8 dozen depending on the kind. I use the candy melts from the local AC Moore/Michaels, not the real expensive stuff. My family actually like the cheaper stuff better (go figure)
I also use the plastic containers that Shoprite puts 1/2 subs in. They gave me one to try and said they would sell them to me if I needed to. They fit 1 to 1 1/2 doz easily.
Hope this helps
What if they are decorated & on a stick? I just made Frankensteins, eyeballs & ghosts. Someone is wanting a price. They are more work because of the details. I just don't know.
Cakeballs are my most popular item and I sell them for $12/ dozen unwrapped, $1.50 each individually bagged with ribbon, $6 for a ribbon wrapped gift box of 4 and $18 for a ribbon wrapped gift box of 12. Hunted all over hells half acre to get the boxes that fit (Uline) and they are so cute, I really like them. Hard trying to find a good price point, something where you actually get orders but not so cheap that you dread getting them, lol.
Hope you have great sales!!
Thanks for the experience. I sold my lemonlicious cake truffles dipped in ghirradelli white choc. for 1.00 each. She called me w/ a complaint. You just can't sell 12. They should be sold in 2-3 doz, and nothing less!
I charge $6.00/doz for them in a bakery box (Generally use pie boxes, can fit about 3 dozen in one layer nicely in there) each one is in a mini muffin liner.
As for the ones on a stick that are decorated, I would probably charge $.75 or $1.00 each (mind you mine are normally $.50/each)
Guess I need to raise my prices.... I charge 4.00 a dozen, not boxed in a fancy box

lmao....maybe I need to lower mine!
LOL! Hey if you are getting it....you GO girl!!!!
I live in Hooterville...they don't want to pay for anything - lol

I sell mine for $5 for 1/2 doz, $8/dozen--mine cost about 1.50 to make per dozen. I have sold them in simple boxes I picked up at HL for half price or simply on clear plastic plates covered in plastic wrap....no fancy decorations or wrapping and people around me are a little reluctant to pay that much...they get them only for super special occasions but everyone who tastes them LOVES them!!
When I make cake truffles (as I market them) and bring them to the office, I sell out within 30 minutes after the word spreads! Mine go for same price as my regular truffles (6 for 5 dollars) and people don't complain about the price - it doesn't hurt that I'm in Montreal and cake truffles are not common in these parts
my hubby and I were just talking about this!!
He can be a bit of an @ss and said they are great, but dont expect to get more then what it costs for a timbit!!!!!!!!
How much are timbits now adays???
He is a cake muggle who thinks he knows everything...... I will take your guys opinions first!
I just did a google to see what a timbit is ! That is my new factoid for today...I'd never heard of them until this very second!
Believe it or not, people pay $2.25-$2.55 for the cupcake pop version here. I have co-workers that call the few stores that sell them every week.

I looked at your website and love your cruffle packaging. What size box do you order from Uline?
Thanks!
I think timbit are about 35 cents each....I'm not sure my kids are 8 and 6 and eat a full donut now.....We have a Tim Hortons everywhere here!! Hey did you know it cost about 1 million dollars for a franchise now....Like McDonalds..... ..Yah like I could afford one....
Love Timmy's
LOL
i know they are everywhere! here in spruce there is only one... but in stony there are 3!
I too am curious what size boxes to order from Uline. Approximately how big do you gals/guys make your pops? I tried making them for the first time around three weeks ago with some leftover cutoffs I had from a sculpted cake. I ended up making them about 2 1/2" round and on a stick. I dipped them in white almond bark that I flavored (luckily I can find it locally for $1.77/pound).
They were a huge hit amongst friends and family that I gave them too and NO ONE in the area has even heard of these! Really there's only one bakery local that I know of that does actual custom designs, you think it they make it, but they charge $50/hour labor for anything out of their normal realm!!!! So I know I am sitting in an untouched market
