Hi, I live in Australia and can't get my hands on betty crocker white cake mix.

I was wondering, is it a basic vanilla flavor cake? I am wondering if I can just use a local brand of vanilla cake mix.

Any suggestions?

Here's what Betty Crocker white cake mix looks like:

You will note that is 18.25 oz., or 517 g. Are your cake mixes the same size?

no, I just checked, its 380grams or 13.4ounces...I think this made my cake sink (see cake disasters).

I couldnt find a "white" cake, so I used a vanilla cake mix and followed everything else but never thought about the weight of the original cake...

(and thankyou so much for helping me out...I need it! feel like I am in a black hole)

Seems you'll need to use not quite 1-1/2 of your size cake mixes to equal on of our standard mixes.

Having a scale would help quite a bit.

Good luck. icon_smile.gif
