A specific recipe? There is so much to read through, I am trying to!
I need a recipe for rice crispy treats. I have never made them before, only eaten them. lol
I need the best one that has the "kinks" worked out and has enough information about "how to" for a newbie! icon_smile.gif I want it to taste great and be able to cover it with fondant. I hope there are instructions for how to do that! lol
Any help would be appreciated! icon_smile.gif
I need all the information from a to z I can get. From what to buy to, how long does it take till I can cover it with fondant to how to store the remainder so I can use it all. I hate to waste food!
Thank you all so muchicon_smile.gif

This is the original recipe from the Kellog's website.

1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

2. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.

3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.

Note

For best results, use fresh marshmallows.

1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows.

Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.

Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container. To freeze, place in layers separated by wax paper in airtight container. Freeze for up to 6 weeks. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

NOTE: If you are using them for modeling, I find that crushing the cereal a bit makes it easier to work with. icon_biggrin.gif

That recipe is on the side panel of the Rice Krispies box.

I would like to know this too....I am making a baby shower cake tonight and my topper is not working. I want the baby that sits on top of the cake, so I made it out of fondant instead of buying it (no Michaels or Hobby Lobby closer than 1 1/2 hours away) and my baby's head has fallen off icon_sad.gif ....So if I could make it out of RKT's that might work.

SO...if you wanted to mold the RKTs would you let it set for a little while and then mold it???
When can you cover it with fondant??
