It's an interesting article. There's a little side box about Duff.
They both mention pricing, btw. And Buddy says a little something about the Bridezilla episode:

Thanks for the link. It's definitly an interesting article.
I'm not sure if Buddy would be telling everyone if some of that drama was scripted, kwim?
It's great to see those prices lol, they really should be putting those up on the show. That would have made the cake they dropped be an even more dramatic moment when the veiwers know its worth a couple of grand!
I think we should email his prices to all of our customers to see if they still think our prices are too much!! lol
Not all of them question the prices but you still get the look from some thinking... but its only a cake!!!
then I tell them, go make it yourself and see how far you get! lol
There's another article (entitled "Couples say 'I don't' to expensive weddings")under the Cake Boss article which discusses how couples are cutting wedding costs by buying grocery store cakes....................

OH yes thos prices must go in a spot light somewhere!
$15 to $16 a serving people!!!!
I knew it was a lot but wow! I am really glad to see the bakery doesn't pull those costs down to the bakery level if ya KWIM. Haha I bet Duff is rethinking his prices as we type...
I almost wonder if the whole Bridzilla thing went over his head and just escaped Buddy's knowledge. Like he was one of the few not let in on the whole thing. I wonder if he has seen her blog and what he really thinks about the set up now.

What's on her blog, and where is it?
I can't find it. I think the original thread in here may have gotten deleted. I didn't save the blog either. Sorry! I bet someone in here knows where to find it.... any help out there?
Thats great people are scaling back there budgets, but I won't be changing my price. By all means, I understand if you need to go to Wal-MArt.
I like watching cake boss because buddy actually works on the cakes, you hardly ever see Duff work on a cake. Side note I had a post going about brides who watch the cake shows and then want perfection. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-644258.html
when i told my bridezilla about duffs prices she she shut up.
Cake Boss is my favorite of all the cake shows. I wish it was a whole hour. They even made a cake that was buttercream for his sister in law shower, if I remember correctly.
I love Buddy's work, and have since seeing him on Food Network Challenges. Wish the show would focus more on making/designing the cakes and less on yelling at each other.

Thanks for the link, I always wondered how much they charge for their cakes This really puts into perspective other threads that talk about people not wanting to pay what's fair for a cake
If that bridezilla has a blog, I'd love to see it. I just saw my first 2 episodes of Cake Boss the other day (my mother Tivos caking shows for me and sends the over!) and that was one of them. No way could anybody be that rude - it had to have been scripted. I hope?
If anybody knows where to find it, please share!
