Im making a fondant covered cake for my Nephews 3rd birthday and as he is mad on Starwars & Powerrangers, the original "do what you want it will be lovley", to "could you possibly do Starwars" to "would it be to much trouble to do a starwars & power rangers themed one" has been a bit worrying for me as a didnt want to mess it up.

I was relieved when she asked for actual figures on the cake for him to keep so I have a darth maul & blue ranger figure, both are full size (like the kids toys you get from toys r us, or similar) and im now worried about how to get them to stand up. I am assuming the weight would just make them keep falling off the icing if I just sat them right on top of the cake with some edible glue. I then had an idea of getting some wodden dowls or something, glueing them to the feet and pushing them right through the cake, but then I assume it would have to be superglue then the poor lad would be left with 2 figures with huge dowls stuck to them lol. Anyone got any ideas please?

thanks Very Happy

Rather than gluing dowels to the bottoms of their feet, perhaps you could glue a skewer, wire or other dowel-type thing to the BACK of their legs. Then, you could chisel off the glue later.

Or, attach the skewer by wrapping clear cellophane tape around the leg, like a splint!

I don't know what the figures look like exactly, but if their legs are solid colored, you might be able to find a coordinating color of electrical tape with which to attach the skewer. Electrical tape is available in LOTS of colors.
