Did you look through the recipes on this site, there are a lot of them and they have ratings. Hope you find what you need, good luck with your cake.

Go to the recipe section and find Indydebi's buttercream recipe. It is wonderful. It will crust well too. I love her buttercream. Sorry I can't help with the conversion though or the sponge cake. You could goggle the conversions though.

Hi, this is the sponge cake recipe I tend to use
4oz butter
1tsp vanilla essence
51/2oz caster sugar
2 eggs
71/2oz self raising flour
4floz milk

Madeira cake is another good sponge cake, for an 8inch round this is the recipe I have
61/2oz butter
61/2oz caster sugar
3 eggs
83/4oz self raising flour

Hope this helps
Kathryn
