OK, so I am attempting my first diaper cake and I need help!!! I want a standing cake, and my first question is, will a fruit filling be ok? She wants strawberry bananna. Second, how do I make sure it stands straight and wont fall? A cake board half way through with dowels? And if you do that wont the frosting stick from the top and bottom? And when you cover it in fondant i keep reading that people do it in sections, do you measure the piece of fondant then put it on the cake or do you cut it out when you get it on the cake, like shave the edges off? If I forgot to ask something I am grateful for any advice you can give!!!!
THANKS!
Had to do a bit of searching as most help threads are for tiered cakes made of actual diapers....
Here's a tutorial for a cake that looks like 5 flat/folded, but stacked diapers:

(Also includes info on diaper sheet cake.)

Silly question, but in those instructions she said she put a board between each layer, so then there would be no frosting between the boards just cake? Or does it matter?
dezzib27, you're most welcome, it was my pleasure.
Each tier of cake (or each layer cake) is frosted on a cake board and then they're stacked.
(So yes, they are frosted.)
For more info (than you'll probably ever need) about making stacked/tiered/layer cakes:
