I was just looking in the Popcorn Factory catalogue that came in the mail. They sell snowmen marshmallow pops (3 marshmallows on a stick dipped in white chocolate and faces & arms painted on) for $9.99 (plus shipping I assume) for only three of them! Heavens, even at $1.50 each I could make a nice profit! Guess what I will be making for this year! LOL!!!
I THOUGHT ABOUT MAKING THEM ALSO, I THOUGHT THE CHOCOLATE WOULD MELT THE MARSHALLOW.

Those are adorable! Please tell me, how many did you get from one bag of marshmallows? I plan on using white candymelts (personally love their flavor) and figure one bag of candymelts for one bag of marshmallows. Can I be so bold as to ask what you charged for these?

I got the marshmallows on sale for $1.00 a bag, and the candy melts for $1.69. There are 40 marshmallows in a bag.SO I could do 13 pops.
I used about a 1/2 a bag of melts per bag of marshmallows.
I figure packaging and all (I put them in pretzel bags with a raffia bow) they cost me 0.15 each to make. I charged $0.75 each. I see now that I underpriced myself!! They sold like hot cakes too!

I was telling co-workers (who I was showing the catalogue to) that I could charge $1.50 per pop, less than half of the catalogue, and still make a decent profit. On my way home tonite I have to stop at the store anyway, will have to buy marshmallows as I already have the candymelts at home. Wonder if the dollar store sells marshmallows?
Shop N Save has them in a 10 for $10.00 sale right now. Not sure if there is one in your area.
Here is another idea...Get a piece of styraforam, put your mmallows in the stick and dip them in the chocolate. Poke the stick into the styrafoam, so the chocolate will run off (drip onto the stryrafoam) Then put them into the freezer for about 3 minutes. They will have a beautiful sheen. They will also be completely cool. Good Luck!
Here's an update on these snowmen pops. I made a few last nite, but decided to roll in coconut for a more "snowlike" look - and here is a picture taken next to the ad from the catalogue. Now, I am not entirely happy with the features, thinking of using orange to make a nose more carrot like. But besides a had (really don't want to do that), what could I put on there to look more like a snowman? Gosh, these were so easy and figure it costs only around 20 cents a piece to make. If I sell for $1.50 each, that is less than half the catalogue cost - and I don't charge shipping! LOL!!
Those are cute! If you want to do the coconut, could you dip the marshmallows individually in the chocolate, then in coconut, then slide it on the stick? I think they would look more like snowmen if you could see that they were three individual sections, like snowmen are. Just an idea! I'm not sure how hard it would be to do them individually.
Could the brim be made with a dipped candymelt? It looks like some sort of disk and then another marshmallow on top of that.
newtodecorating - did you dip each marshmallow seperately or all 3 on a stick at once? You can see the seperation between the 3 which is perfect for making the snowman. These are really cute - I'll have to give it a try this year for my sons classes. Thanks for sharing.

Here are some ideas I came up with:
*Three Peas In A Pod" - green marshmallow with cute faces
*Baby Peeps" - yellow baby chicks for Easter
*Scary Cats" - black cats for Halloween
*Christmas Ornaments" - blue, red, yellow ornaments
And many more that I could think of.
I put them all on the stick and dipped at once. Don't put too much space between them, they will slide down the stick.
