I've seen this done on this site and love the look!! How is it done? I have no clue. I could easily do flat strips but I'd like to try one big chocolate wrap for the side of a round cake.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

You use acetate sheets or chocolate transfer sheets. Apply tempered chocolate to sheets and apply to the cake.

You could make these at home too, right? Does it have to be acetate, or would parchment work?

You can also roll chocolate clay very thinly and apply.

You don't have to use tempered chocolate!!

HTH

( it may not be as good, but it's an alternate method!!)

Modeling candy clay

14 ounces candy melts
1/3 cup light corn syrup

melt candy melts as directed, stir in corn syrup until just blended.

shape mix into a 6" square on wax paper and let it sit at room temp till dry.
wrap well and store at room temp until needed. Best if left to rest overnight.

Thanks! I found lots of ideas from the Wilton website on things to make. Might make a basket to hold cakeballs for Thanksgiving. Gotta use up the orange melts somehow. Bought 4 bags on clearance, figured you can always use them!
