I am wanting to pipe cornelli lace in a shimmery gold color. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Can you add luster dust into the buttercream to make the color?

I probably shouldn't copy this directly to the site, but sugarcraft's website doesn't have a specific address so I can link you to this particular page. I found this on www.sugarcraft.com under "Coloring-All" and then "piping silver and gold"

Piping silver and gold

2 ts. Powdered sugar
2 ts. gold silver or metallic highlighter crafting dust*
clear alcohol
1 ts. clear piping gel

On a small ceramic plate, mix sugar and dusting powder. Add a few drops of clear alcohol (gin or vodka is suggested) and mix with a small palette knife to create a stiff paste.

Add the piping gel, a little at a time, mixing well until the consistency for piping in reached. Use a very small piping bag and tip as needed. The leftovers can be put into a small container and stored in the refrigerator. It will keep indefinitely.

Researched and invented by Brenda in cake club a few years ago.

Coloring dusts are what bring your flowers to life. I recommend you apply 'petal' dust to dried flower first, then if you want it to glisten, apply lustre dust. If you want metallic items, choose HIGHLIGHTER dusts.
Although these items are classified as "edible" in Europe in the United States they are classed as
"NON-TOXIC FOR DECORATION ONLY" AND NOT considered edible. Buy at your own discretion

Ha! Was just about to post this info, then my computer froze! icon_cry.gif You can go ahead and substiute the highlighter dusts with super gold luster dust. It will not be super shiny, but those highlighter dusts really are for decoration only and shouldn't be consumed.
