Hi,

I was just wondering if any of you have made fondant baby boots. If you have, could you please let me know how you made them?

Thank you in advance!

I actually just made them yesterday!! I got the pattern and directions from JaneK. They were surprisingly easy. You could do a search in the gallery for baby shoes, that's how I found them! If you want you can pm me and I can help you out the best I can. Depends what look you are going for. HTH! icon_biggrin.gif

Here is a template and instructions from a couple of weeks ago that JaneK posted. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-photos_display_121_-73298.html

Bumping this in case others have something similar to help you with!

Looks like flavacakes beat me to it! icon_smile.gif

Yes ma'am! You can look in my pics to see them. I just rolled a small kinda eggish shaped ball of fondant just a tiny bit bigger than what I wanted the booties then just started pinching and slightly pulling up the sides to make the ruffles. Then I used the tool with the big ball on the end and pushed in the center. To give it texture I used my small needle nosed tweezers that and poked small holes. You can then use either a different colored strip to make a ribbon around it or I also embellesed a pair with pearls. If I can figure out how to do it I'll go make one real quick and take pics and send to you. I'll try...I'm somewhat computer stupid!

Wow her's are really cute! Mine are more just the crochet/knit looking booties. But I made one real quick and took pics if you would like to see. It's really really simple, just molding the fondant. They are also really cute if lustered.

biviana,

The link doesn't seem to be working - unless we're all hitting it at once....

sarahnichole975,

Please post your booties. I'd love to see them!

Here is how I make mine. I did this one real quick so it's not perfect, but it shows how to do it. I usually use a pair of suture tweezers to do the texturizing, but the skewer worked fine as well. These work up so very quickly (like 5 mins!) so if you're in a hurry, they're great, and I think they're cute. LIke I said before, less of a shoe and more of a crochet bootie. There are a couple more in my pics...much better ones!

OOOPS it's backwards icon_redface.gif ! Told ya I'm a computer dummy! Well you can either start at the bottom and work your way up or you could very easily disassemble and smash a bootie if you wanted! icon_rolleyes.gif

WOW - you are AWESOME!!! I can't believe you took the time to show me all that! You are a sweetheart! It does look like it wouldn't be too hard to do. I will have to try a couple and see how it turns out! I wanted to make them for my sisters baby shower cake - so I will let you know tomorrow how it works! icon_biggrin.gif
