I have tried several buttercream recipes but not really crazy about the taste. I have tried using crisco, butter and a combination of both but would like a recipe that taste better. Does anyone have a really good icing recipe?

Thanks

I use the one that comes with the Wilton Meringue Powder, the one that is just meringue, crisco and vanilla and sugar. I love it cause it isn't overly sweet. I usually don't add all of the sugar it calls for and it turns out really tastey. Everyone seems to prefer that icing to the other buttercreams that I have made.

What kind of taste are you looking for? you can alter the taste of any BC recipe by adding flavors. Almond, vanilla, orange, kaluah, mint, cream cheese, banana, caramel/buttercsotch, rum,...The possabilities are endless with a little trial and error. HTH

Starrchaser,
Where do I find the Cream Cheese flavoring you mentioned? I have heard of this several times, and I looked for it last night and saw just about every other flavor imaginable, but not cream cheese. icon_rolleyes.gif

I agree with the ButterCream Dream. YUMMY. It's the one I always use.
