If I make a fondant cow, how long will it last? Is it something the birthday girl can keep for a long time or do they go bad?

It shouldnt go bad at all. If you put a bit of gumtex in it then it will dry faster. I have gumpaste flowers from 3 years ago that are just fine: )

Thanks, I was hoping that would be the answer. The fondant cows on this site are sooo cute and the plastic ones I see in stores are plain.

Is the gumtex in Fondant better than the gumpaste?

My preference if i was doing it would be to use gumpaste. But if you dont have gumpaste, adding gumtex to your fondant will be just fine : )

Do you still add the gumtex to the gumpaste or is the gumpaste used alone?

Thanks you for all your help.

Gumpaste is made with either gumtrag or gumtex in it. Will you be making your own or buying one pre-made?
You wont need to add anything to the gumpaste, just use it as is.

Do you have to add the gumpaste? I was going to practice tonight and I don't have any gumpaste. Will I have to do my figures all over again or will they just take longer to dry?

They will just take longer to dry, and you have to be a little more careful how you leave them to dry, give them support while drying so
that they will keep the shape that you want : )
