This is how I did them. First I stripped the bag with a deep forest green, a lighter tan opposite that and then the main color of darker brown. With such a small tip, I'm still experimenting on getting all three colors to show. With a larger tip I think they would come out just perfect. I'll keep trying. Hope this helps.
That is cool looking..although I make them out of gumpaste or fondant..you form into to a tear drop shape, and using a pair of small scissors or gum paste scissors and snip from above and work down the little pine cone edges. (I don't know how to descripe it) Never thought about doing it in buttercream..
And how DO you get if off the stick?
I don't take them off the stick but use the stick to place them on the cake.
Those are cool, thanks for sharing.
I'm just not understanding about the stick.
Does the stick stay in the cake? Or are you pushing it off the stick with something once it's on the cake?
I like these! I want to make some pinecones for a cake next month. Do you think they would work with royal icing?
Thanks so much for bringing this back up ! The link I had wont open anymore !
a pretzel ?? What a good idea!! then you can eat the stick and all ! Thanks for sharing that tip !
