I am trying to decide how to write on the side of this cake.

This is what I"m writing:

Quote:
Quote:

O THAT I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!

This will be spread over 3 tiers.

So, here's my question...

I want it to be in gold - so would you pipe it - and if so how do you pipe in gold?

Or would you paint it with a fine paintbrush?

Hi

Found this a while back, hope it helps. I wouldn't pipe or write that much, bc my writing isn't all that great as it is. You have some work cut out for you. Can't wait to see the cake.

Pipeable Gold

2 ts. Powdered sugar
2 ts. gold silver or metallic dusting powder
clear alcohol
1 ts. piping gel

On a small ceramic plate, mix sugar and dusting powder. Add a few drops of clear alcohol (gin or vodka is suggested) and mix with a small palette knife to create a stiff paste

Add the piping gel, a little at a time, mixing well until the consistency for piping in reached. Use a very small piping bag and tip as needed. The leftovers can be put into a small container and stored in the refrigerator. It will keep indefinitely

since this post is old and my answer is late...for future ref...you could pipe it in royal and then after it has dried paint it with gold dust liqified with some vodka.
