Do you weigh your ingredients (mainly powdered sugar) or do you just measure it?

I almost always weigh my ingredients, but I have a very accurate scale and I think that makes a difference. But really unless it's a small measurement(say 1/4 cup or Tbsps.) it is so much easier to just pour everything into the bowl on the scale- less cleanup too icon_biggrin.gif

It sounds like a great idea, but where do I find the weights/measurements of common baking ingrediets (flour, sugar, etc.)?

I weigh my sugar--I find I have better results that way.

King Arthur Flour has a really great list of weights in their "Baker's Companion" cookbook- I recommend buying that book to everyone, it is a wonderful resource! Let me know what measurements you need specifically and I'll type them up later for you icon_smile.gif

Here's a link to a post by crimsicle that has a great chart. I printed it out and keep it with my scale, it's got a lot of information on it!

I love my scale, and am so glad I'm not having to wash out so many measuring cups (especially the ones that were covered in crisco, LOL!), and it's more accurate to measure by weight for most things.

hth!

I weigh almost everything. Same reason, less cleanup! I use the chart by crimsicle almost religiously. I have even started adding fur things like tablespoons and such. I do have an awesome scale that does grams though. I feel like since grams is such a small unit, I can get pretty precise with my measurements.
