The Best Chocolate Cake Recipe!!

I just made a simple layer cake (9") with this recipe and it is absolutely to die for!! If you're in the market for a great chocolate cake and don't mind using a mix try this one out. I got it off of allrecipes.


Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Yields: 12 servings   
"This easy recipe is a chocoholic's dream come true!"
INGREDIENTS:

1 (18.25 ounce package devil's food cake mix )(I used Chocolate Fudge)
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix )(I used Chocolate Fudge)
2 cups sour cream  
1 cup melted butter
5 eggs
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips )(I used mini chips)

  
DIRECTIONS:

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 10 inch Bundt pan.  
2.  In a large bowl, stir together cake mix and pudding mix. Make a well in the center and pour in sour cream, melted butter, eggs and almond extract. Beat on low speed until blended. Scrape bowl, and beat 4 minutes on medium speed. Blend in chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pan.  
3.  Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.

Thanks for sharing your recipe success! I love allrecipes.com, they have made me famous in my family for the recipes I've found there that everyone loves so much. icon_wink.gif This recipe sounds super delish, I think I'll give it a go!

I'm sure you'll love it. It is definitely for a true chocolaholic though. Delicious!!!

I too love Allrecipes.com. That is the first place I go when I need a recipe. I know what you mean about raves from the family. I have so many recipes that I use religiously that I've gotten from there. I love their rating/comments system.

Do the choc. chips actually melt into the cake or do they hold their shape so that when you eat the cake, you can actually feel the chips in your mouth??
