Well I'm bumping also, I hope someone has an answer for us on this one. I have the mold for the candy shoes and know someone who does a great job on those but I'd like to see a cake one.

Okay, I have been wanting to make a shoe cake for a while now, I pm'd couturiere, a member here on CC and she was nice enough to share what she did. Basically the heel part is free formed, pick a picture of a shoe, and go from there. I made the sole from a tracing of my daughters foot on paper, cut it out and then laminated it. Havne't tried the heel yet. As far as the top; that is going to depend on the type of shoe you want, I am hoping for a sandal so will be cutting 1/4 inch strips for the toe and maybe some rock candy for jewels. I don't want to give out instructions for something that is one not mine and two that I haven't tried, I have not gotten any further than this. I HTH a bit, I would suggest pm'g a member who's cake you like and I am sure they will be happy to help. I have to make a Karaoke cake for friday and then next week I plan on making a practice run of the shoes. I will share pictures when they are done. Of course the shoes themselves will not be eatible but will make nice accessory to the shoebox cake, I am hoping anyway.

Hi,
I have only attempted this once so far but here's what I did. I actually found a pattern online on how to make real high heels. I copied the pictures on my computer, resized them to what I wanted, cut my own patterns from that then cut them out of fondant. Assemble using water as "glue" to hold the pieces together. Let them dry completely. To get the arch in the shoe, I let it dry over a wax paper covered cardboard paper towel roll.

Here's the shoe pattern. Maybe that will help.

I made one a few months ago using Kerry Vincent's Book. I took pictures of the book if you'd like me to email them to you icon_smile.gif I also made photocopies, but maybe the pictures are clear enough to read the print. I'll have to check.

I had to adjust her templates a bit though. I didn't find that it fit properly. The sides just wouldn't work for me, and it looked as though no human foot would fit through the really slim opening. Of course, maybe my arch was too severe.

It was a lot of fun to make though. It's in my photos. PM me or email for the instruction pictures, if you like icon_smile.gif

Just thought, mine ins't as high as a stiletto but i guess i could just make the heel thinner and longer.
