Hi. Can anybody tell me what type of wire is used in cake? Like when you are suspending stars or balls above the cake. I am wanting to use that look for my daughters birthday this weekend. TIA, Tanya

Here is a post that this same questions was asked and there are a lot of different responses as to what to use.

I myself will only use Stainless Steel wire (but i get it from work where I know it has not been contaminated and won't rust in the cake, if SS is scratched or contaminated with carbon steel then it will rust and can cause lots of problems)

I've just used jewellery wire for my daughter's cake, but have wrapped the stem that's going in the cake in aluminium foil just to be on the safe side!

whe I was learning to make gumpaste flowers, i learned just to use regular cloth covered florist wire, which you can get at Michaels.
