Ok, im going to start this in about an hour or so..
I wnat to make one of the "show support " bra cakes, and I have never worked with fondant much before and am haveing trouble molding it. I cant really find a pair of round things to use as molds, and I am not sure of how to put it togeather.

Heres an idea that poped into my head a bit a go...
I have a metal bowl, small but not perfectly round...
can I bake to cakes in it and them trim it to be round, put it on top of anouther cake and put the fondant on them? that seems like it will be much better for me, but I jsut dont know...

Thanks for the help!

I suppose it would depend on if the bowls can go in the oven. Otherwise that would probably work. I am not good at covering cakes in fondant, so I did mine in all buttercream. It is in the naughty cake gallery, it wouldn't post in my pictures. I think "support" was one of my keywords. It was a red bra with something that looked like cornelli lace on it (but I don't really know how do to that). Good luck.

Edited to say: Naughty cake gallery, page seven, second to the last row.

P.S.
I was following your discussion on your birthday cake for your step-daughter, I'm dying to know how it turned out, and how "mom" liked it!!

Hi Val,
For the cakes that I have posted in the naughty gallery under lingerie, I used the wilton sports ball pan, that's if you want cake under the bra. If you just want the shape of the bra with fondant I have used small round balloons blown up and than covered with fondant in the shape of a bra to dry. Then you just pop or remove the balloon. That will take a couple of days to dry to hold the shape though.
I have a friend that has used a small round METAL mixing bowl that has worked for her.
I hope this helps!

The cake was a HIT, thanks to yall! I made a 2 tier covered in chocolate buttercream with pink shell border and pink roses on top. Everyone loved it, and heres the good part.....

Carols mom had the nerve to bring a cheracter cake "just in case mine didnt turn out, it was dora and it was pitiful! lol. The top tier and 3/4 of the bottom tier of mine was eaten, her new husband and her ate a piece, and that was it, no one else touched it! I was so proud, Thank yall for all of your help. The cake wasent origionally what I had planed to do, but it was what Carol wanted and it was her b-day so I gave her what she wanted. Sorry I havent posted already, Im waiting for pics from my cousin, and we are buying the house we are renting so I have been doing some major spring cleaning before they do the apraisal. Good luck on the "bra" cake. Sounds like you've got a pretty good plan.

So glad to hear your cake was a success and I am sure you felt really good about the fact that people ate your cake and not "hers" icon_twisted.gif

When I make my "bikini" cakes (I guess a bikini is like a bra) I use the mini-wondermolds for the "bra-filling" icon_wink.gif
I use all buttercream, but smooth it with viva to look like skin, and I usually make collarbones and ribs, etc...for a "real girl" look

Here is an example:

Its so funny that you posted that cake, Im makeing this for a 50th birthday, lol
I made a 2 layer 10 inch cake, and made 2 small rounds, and guess what I baked them in...
A coffe cup! lol. I have an old cup that DH has tried to throw away for years because the handle was broken and he said that someone was going to cut their hand on it, I have actually dug it out of the trash twice because its something DH got me for valentines day way back when.
Im going to start decorateing in about an hour so wish me luck!
