I looking for ideas to do something related to my churches bible school theme for June "Artic Blast". Anybody have an idea and or pics to share. I'm new to cake decorating but willing to give it a try if not to difficult.

Not sure if I have any ideas for you...but, I'm thinking...I believe that I've seen that theme here on flyers at the church/school that my son attends.
Anyway..welcome to CC and I'm sure that you'll have a lot of great ideas from the members pouring your way...

Maybe cupcakes or a cake with shards of candy (using a hard candy recipe or maybe rock candy) sticking out...to resemble ice or glaciers.

Am I making any sense...

"Arctic Blast" is the name church's are using for the "Arctic Edge" VBS program from Lifeway.

We're doing Arctic Edge too! In fact, I'm painting away on very large props for the stage among many, many more props for around the church. (Our VBS is June 4-8 this year....early!!). Then I'll be working on my classroom! (I'm teaching the 1st & 2nd graders and "I am" the decorating committee!)

The site that Doug mentioned is GREAT for idea's and clip art! Remember though, penguins are not in the Arctic!!! They're in the Antarctic! Puffins are in the Arctic which would be cute piped on cupcakes. Snowflakes would be cute too or even snow covered pine trees. I could go on and on but I'll spare you!! How many cupcakes are you doing??

Everyone thanks so much for your replies and insight. I am going right now to check out that website. I'm not sure how many cupcakes I'll be doing yet, we don't know the approx. # of children who will attend. Our bible school is in June as well I think its more like the second week though. I'll let you guys know what happens. Thanks for the heads up on the penguins to LOL.
