I had a customer call me tonight looking for the above kind of cake - I don't make it though. It apparently has pastry layers in it???

If anyone has a recipe or has ever made it can you please help me out! I told this customer that I would look into it for her, thankfully not for her current order.

Thanks in advance!

I've never heard of sfoglia, but I have heard of sfogliatellas, which are sometimes called "lobster tails". They are an Italian pastry that has yummy, flaky, layers and are filled with either a ricotta filling or sometimes a wonderful whipped vanilla creme! They are soo good! But anyway, I'm not quite sure that is what you are looking for as they aren't cake! Hopefully, someone will be able to help you out!

internet search revealed that sfoglia is puff pastry -- and only these recipes in English:

With my limited understanding of Italian, I think Sfoglia is a sort of generic reference to a cake or pastry made with sheets of puff pastry. Here's a link with a picture of a Christmas "Sfloglia" cake:

It's just puff pastry layered with pastry creme and sprinkled with powdered sugar. The recipe for pastry creme from that recipe has these ingredients:
1 egg yolk
25 grams sugar
10 grams flour
125 ml milk
2 cl vanilla extract
