I've taken some of the batter out and mixed unsweetened cocoa in it and then spooned into the batter that I"ve poured in my pan and swirl with a butter knife ... I've done this alot.. I never buy marble cake mixes lol
Your title made me I don't buy the marble mixes either. There's never enough chocolate. I usually make one box of white/yellow/vanilla and one chocolate and then swirl them together. I've been wanting to try a zebra cake though. Same principle as a marble cake but you spoon the batter in layers instead of swirling it. Here's a pic of what one looks like inside...

You're all welcome . It really is pretty. I was thinking of doing one in red and white like a candy cane for Christmas but I've got a must try list so long and I'm falling behind...pulled sugar, floral jello, zebra cake
that zebra cake is great! I just did a marble cake for delivery yesterday-which I would have known about this, I would have done it then. Oh well.... next time. However that red/white variation sounds good also!
Thanks for the great idea
