I am so worried about this cake. I made it for a friend of mine's husband for his birthday. I wasn't around when my husband dropped it off so I didn't get to see her or her husbands reaction. My husband said they liked it but I'm just worried that it's just not that good.
It was for an adults only party which could have possibly brought a good amount of business.
If you will please give my your honest opinions.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I just really had high hopes for this cake. I'm really trying to do some of my "own design" cakes lately now that I am getting a little more confidence. I've only been doing cakes since March. I had it all planned out and had thought about and worried about it so much this week. I guess it just didn't live up to my own expectations, kwim?
thanks again, you guys are the best!!
Man, i soooo know how you feel. I literally get sick to my stomach when i send a cake out into the world. I NEVER feel it is good enough. Sometimes i even convince myself that people are just being nice when they say they liked it. The worst is when your not there to get their initial reaction. But, everyone is ALWAYS assuring me that everything is fine.
Your cake looks fabulous! To put things into perspective, here is a little story.... I was at my besst friends baby shower a few months ago. I made her the baby boy cake that is in my photo's. I felt good about the look and decor of the cake, but usually i always worry...."Is it going to taste ok??" "did the center get cooked all the way??" Anyway, everyone was eating it and RAVING!! I felt great. It tasted great to me to. So, while she was opening the gifts, she opened the most PRECIOUS, little knitted booties. Knitted in her college's colors. They were amazingly beautiful, and the women there that knitted him immediately started saying "dont look to close!!" " i made a million mistakes!!" . Everyone there couldn't believe what she was saying. The booties were perfect, but she contined to point out her messed up stitches. Finally someone was like, "please, these look perfect!"
Immediately i realized what everyone else must of think t of me with my cakes. they didn't make the cake, and they DONT make cakes. They dont see the mistakes you do. They will think it was perfect!!
That is what everyone at the party thought of your cake. I garuntee it!!!!

Your cake looks well made and perfect for the occasion!
I love the rose. The cake looks awesome! Like Snicker said, they didn't make the cake, so in their case, ignorence is bliss. ![]()
I think it's fun and quirky! Perfect for the occasion, right? Everyone will get a good chuckle out of it and definitely have fun teasing the Birthday Boy. Great job! I really like it!
Men are just useless when delivering cakes! Mine drops a cake off and I try and get the details of the response from him and he's so 'well, they liked it' or 'they seemed ok about it' that I start fretting and panicking. I almost want him to take a camera to photo their faces when they see the cake or write down a response for me!!
I bet they loved the cake - I think the idea is very witty. Having just turned 30 myself I think it would have had me in tears though!!

I think you did a wonderful job. Stop worrying!! First rule of cake decorating is to enjoy it! I understand that you want everything to be just right, but believe me, most customers don't see a little flaws that we beat ourselves up over.
