I'm trying to make a My Little Pony figure from one of Debbie Brown's books. The pony looks good, but I can't get the eyes right. The pony's head is barely 1/2 inch high I think and maybe 1/2 inch wide - so small! Any ideas on how to make eyes out of fondant? My "drawing" skills are not great, so I'm afraid of ruining the pony by trying to draw eyes on. Debbie's intructions are to flatten a minute ball of white fondant and then flatten another ball of purple - and then she used a black writing marker to draw on the "pupil". Great instructions - not so practical at the moment! my fondant eyes just look scary! Anyone have tips on making small eyes??? Thanks!

Maybe because they are so small you should just use a tiny bit of white fondant and just paint the purple and black, this will give you a flatter less scary eye. all you need to do is paint two dots so painting skills are not really neccessary! if the eye looks ok then stick it to the head, if not try again!!!

Thanks for your help - I've attached some eyes I've put together - I'll have to post a pic. when I'm done completely. It's a part of a cake I've been wanting to do, so I figure i"ll let this piece dry out a bit and then when I have more time, I can work on the rest....... it's not for anyone, just for practice... so we'll see
