I give it a BOO EARNS!! thumbsdown.gif ....but it's a beginner gumpaste course and most people (including me) were expecting it to be the next step after wilton class 3. If you've only taken wilton 1, you will get alot more out of it then if you've already taken wilton 1-2-3. Apparently there may be more courses after this one....

This is the other thread if you care to read about it...cheers!

I am starting it tomorrow. When I signed up on Wednesday I was the only one signed up for it. Who knows maybe it will end up being a one on one calss. That would be cool!

I just finished the class on Friday and was not very impressed with the book that was put out. I was hoping for a more advanced class but our teacher was really great!!! She taught us a lot more that was not in the book. Hopefully you will have a teacher like her.

I just had my first class yesterday. I knew what to expect after seeing so many threads about how bad it was. We spent the first class covering our cakeboards with fondant. That was it. We were done in just over an hour and we had started 10 minutes late. I decided to ask lots of questions and the instructor wasnt really able to answer much. Hopefully, she'll impress me more next week. We'll see. I was hoping for it to be more advanced, but it really isn't. Hopefully, when we get to gumpaste, I will be more excited because I have never worked with gumpaste before. Just ask questions.

I've taken course 1 and 2. Should I take Course 3 before this one? I wan't able to go when it was offered. Is this an extention of that class or should I be ok without it?

I wrote Wilton about my feeling on this class and my recommendation (like they really wanted it)......would suggest everyone who takes the class write in also...........from the response, it seems they realized everyone expected alot more

I finished this class last week. My final cake I made is in my photos along with the second cake for the class where we used the covered cake board and how to make drapes. I think If I had not taken class 3 this would have been good. It was a lot of review from 3. I learned how to cover a cake board, use the rolling fondant cutter, and the fondant shape cutter. I could have picked up any of those items at the store and known what to do. I learned how to mix gumpaste in with fondant, but again...
I guess I was expecting more flowers - something similar to the gumpaste flower book you can buy to learn on your own.
It did give me 4 two hour times away for myself. But...I could have saved the class fee and bought the gumpaste flower kit to play with. I was not too impressed. MY teacher was good, but the class was too much review. I think if you took it before taking class 3, then it still would have been review for class 3.
I think wilton didn't do a good job with this class.
