tirby, I switch months ago, and it was the best thing I ever did, I use Sharon's (sugarshack) recipe. I even use hi-ratio in my RBC recipe now.

Sharon

I would love to try that recipe. I looked for it in the recipe area, but I didn't find it. Do you happen to have the link? Thank you in advance for the help icon_smile.gif

Yes I do, here is the link for the post by Sharon (sugarshack).
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-19948.html

Just read the whole post because she has tips through out the thread. The only thing I do diffrent is that I don't have the flavoring she uses, so I use my own mixture of flavorings. But everything else I do just as she saids and I always get raves about the icing.

God Bless,
Sharon

Yes, another hi-ratio convert. thumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gificon_cool.gifparty.gif

Thanks for the testimonial!

The Baker's Kitchen is very reasonable with their shipping.
Don't know how they're able to do it, but I'm glad they do.

Also, thanks for your cost per cup breakdown.

grannys3angels:
Ok so do you know if the flavored creamer works? Or have you tried any varation?
I dont have special flavorings to put into the liquid.
Which consists of falvorings and the 1 c powder coffee creamer and 1 c hot water.
So what do you put in and about how much of it.

Your welcome, happy I could help. The more I make this icing the better it seems to get for me thumbs_up.gif .

Edit to answer question: tirby, I will take a cup of very hot water and a cup of the creamer ( I use french vanilla ), I make the whole recipe.....I put my shortening in the bowl and then I will put about 12 tablespoons of the hot creamer in, and for our taste I use 2 tablespoons of butter flavoring and 1 tablespoon of french vanilla or french vanilla blend, or I will use a tablespoon of Butavan flavoring. I mix that up good and creamy, then add my PS, if I what my icing not to stiff then I will add more of the creamer mixture a tablespoon at a time, then when I am done I will taste some of it to see if I need more of any of the flavoring and if so I will add it.....I think you can use just about any kind of flavorings that you like. Just play around with the flavorings till you get one you really like. I have the Pralines & Creme creamer I would like to try, I think a caramel, butter rum or even a butterscotch flavoring would go well with it, then maybe not, but I won't know till I try it. Gosh I hope I didn't misunderstand your question tirby.....I really don't have any special flavorings, I just have certain flavors I just use together like ( butter, vanilla, french vanilla, butavan) with the creamer. Tirby if I misunderstood what you were asking please let me know. As I always say my mind is not aging good icon_smile.gif .
I hope this helps,
Sharon

I use Alpine and it works great for me, I haven't try any other. The Alpine is much easier for me to get and it works great in the heat here.

Sharon

Sharon-I use Sugarshack's recipe as well and I just tried it today with Sweetex and it is so much better. I was just wondering if you just use Sweetex or if you have tried other brands of hi-ratio. I really only want to use hi-ratio from now on!
