Ottawa Senators Hockey Nhl Birthday Cake
White cake with icing I mixed with lemon curd for good taste underneath it all. Marshmallow fondant ice surface, with fondant walls, held up for a day with water bottles for shape. The image colors are all hand drawn with edible markers fine tipped. The nets were made with royal icing. For a 7 year old birthday.

Pirate Ship Cake
This was a pirate ship cake for son's 6th birthday. Had problems with the fondant, too crumbly, so added glycerine and more marshmallows and then kneaded in more conf. sugar and it seemed to work out. The silly mistake was to use white icing underneath which is showing through in parts. I reinforced the wood along the top (rails) with spagetti noodles, I'll make sure the kids don't get those pieces when they eat it. The water was gelatine, and some hard candy too.

Baby Shower Cake Topsy Turvy
This was very difficult as my second topsy cake. The top layer was supposed to be facing other way with the slant, but wouldn't fit. The angles were too extreme. The Pink icing took on a weird vinegar smell for some reason, I cut it off to serve. I put in wooden dowels, so the cake didn't fall or anything.

Baby Block Cake
I got the idea from Martha Stewart Baby Block cake, but she said to just cut a sheet pan cake into 2.5" squares which would have been too small for the size of the cookie cutters that were used for some decorations, so I used larger blocks and made six instead of her nine. The duck is made from candy melts.
