My Daughters Birthday Cake

This is my daughters cake for her party. I used the wilton cake set and I am not really happy with it. Next time I do a castle I will probably make it out of edible things.

My First Cookies

These are my first attempt at making fancy cookies. The color is not the colors I wanted, but this is only practice.

Steelers Helmet Cake

I made this cake for my father in law. The fondant was very soft, so its not as good as I would have liked. The Jersey is #70. The only jersey to ever be retired by the Steelers. The emblem on the side of the helmet, says Steel. My MIL thought it was because I ran out of room, but this is the original emblem. Also the emblem is only on the left side of the helmet (I put it on the wrong side). It should only be on the right side.

Friends Wedding Cake

I helped a friend who is having a very small wedding. This is our practice cake. I am moving in two weeks so I won't get to help her with her final cake, but we had a lot of fun, just playing around today. What do you all think?

1St Birthday Cake

This cake was made for my friends daughter for her first birthday. First time making a topsy turvy with buttercream. I think I'll stick with fondant for those. The butterflies were made using the tutorial from here.

Letterbox

I do something called letterboxing. We are having a gathering and I thought I would make a cake to look like one. This was my first attempt at Ganache and I don't think I should have done it on this one. It didn't turn out like I wanted it to. Oh well. Hope everyone at the gathering likes it.

Kellie's Cake

My friend had her 40th birthday and we surprised her with this cake. She is a nurse and I added a few of her favorite things. An ice cream cone, a daisy and a coffee cup. This is the first time I used smbc and I really liked it.

I made this cake for my son's 6th birthday. Do you every envision something in your mind and have it step by step and then go to do it and it just doesn't do what you want it to? This is mine. I am hoping the head stays on until his party tomorrow.

My Husbands Mountain Bike Cake

Inspired by shenninger. Here is my husbands birthday cake. (the little guy usually sits on my husbands desk at work ,hmm problem?) I called one of his co-workers a few days ago and arranged to have a party for him on Friday, because some of them would be out of the office on his birthday. Well, as I'm finishing up the fondant, I get a call from one of my friends telling me that we may have ash fall from the volcano. What that means for us is that my husband would be staying home for the next few days, which means no party. So I call his co-worker and ask her if she can stall him until about 11:30 and can I bring it by today, just in case of ash fall. She told me to bring it by. I hurried and finished it up and took it over to the hospital, but I still don't have the little guy for the top. He is back in his office. Hmm, how will I get his topper? I asked on of his co-workers if he would be able to snatch it. He goes back and asks him if he can take a picture of it with his cell phone. It worked! The co-worker brought the topper and I was able to put it on before my husband saw it. I took the cake back to his office and boy was he surprised. I am taking a cake decorating class on Friday's so he thought I was making this cake for then. I'm so glad I was able to surprise him.

This was decorated by my 5 yr old son. I think he is going to be the chef in the family.

This was for a Christmas party at my church. This was the first time I used fondant and kind of guessed at how to use it. The stable is made out of melted Chocolate chips.

I didn't much like this cake, but I wanted to make something for National novel writing month. It is half white half chocolate cake.
