Daisy Retirement Cake With Matching Cupcakes
This cake and the cupcakes are "Pink Cake Box" designs. It seemed perfect for a colleague's retirement party as the daisy is important to the history of our school. The cake is lemon with raspberry filling, covered with fondant. The cupcakes are chocolate and vanilla, both with vanilla buttercream.

Hydrangeas
These hydrangea cupcakes were made from Peggy Porschen's latest book. The flowers took days to complete, but I was really pleased with how they came out. The cupcakes were strawberry with vanilla buttercream tinted to match the flowers. They were made for a teacher appreciation luncheon at my son's preschool.

Winter Wonderland
I had seen so many beautiful versions of these here on CC, that I just had to try them myself. They certainly aren't as pretty as some of the others, but I enjoyed making them and they tasted so good! Vanilla buttercream on devil's food cake. They didn't last long at the Christmas party...

Inauguration Celebration
We were enjoying watching all of the inauguration events this week, and I felt we needed some desserts to go along! I did these really fast - but they were just what needed at the time. President's campaign image piped with star tips in vanilla buttercream on a chocolate cupcake.

Tiki Cake With Hibiscus Cupcakes
I made this cake for my mom's birthday. The cake was inspired by calicakeguy's cakes. The base is a dummy covered in graham crackers sand, a buttercream grass skirt and fondant plumeria. The tiki cake is coconut with pineapple filling with chocolate buttercream and chocolate fondant accents. The cupcakes were chocolate with vanilla buttercream filling and vanilla with lemon filling topped with vanilla buttercream and a fondant hibiscus flower.

Anniversary Butterflies
I made this our 7th anniversary. I attempted to follow the beautiful cake found here by Merissa. White cake with lemon filling, all buttercream flowers with chocolate butterflies. The flowers are a bit brighter than I would have liked, but I was trying to use up some leftover icing! It tasted yummy and it was a good chance to practice flowers.

Blue's Clues Friends
These are close ups of all the chocolate transfers from the Blue's Clues cake. There were definitely a few problems in all of the transfers, but this was my first making more detailed chocolate transfers. It took days to make them, but I had fun and was happy with how they cam out!

Blue's Clues Birthday Cake
I made this 10" torted chocolate cake for my friend's nephew's second birthday. This was my first time making detailed chocolate transfers. It took me days to get them all done! The cupcakes were vanilla filled with vanilla buttercream with chocolate paw prints. This was really fun to make!

Pooh And Piglet
I made this for my son's first birthday. He is a big Piglet fan. It was my first try at scupting figures out of fondant and I was very happy with how they turned out. It was also my best attempt at smooth buttercream. I used Melvira's method to smooth the icing. I am going to keep working at it, but I was happy with the cake. The cake was white chocolate whisper cake with lemon filling and vanilla buttercream.

Jungle Animal Birthday Cupcakes
I made these for another party for my son's first birthday. They are white chocolate whisper cake topped with buttercream. The animals are all fondant. Some parts were freehand and others were made using Wilton's noah's arc cookie cutters along with other fondant cutters. He loved his first cupcakes!
