First Communion Kitty Cat
This was my daughter's cake for her First Communion. It is a Himalayan cat, wearing a tiara of white flowers (like hers) eating a communion host and wearing a gold necklace with a crucifix. Her own design. Flowersn host and necklace in gumpaste, everything else is buttercream.

Golden Snitch On Quidditch Through The Ages Book
This was for my son's birthday. The golden snitch was made using the Wilton ball pan, covered in Ivory Satin Ice fondant, added fondant accents, and painted using Old Gold luster dust. The feathers are real, but I suppose you can make them with royal icing or gumpaste. The book cake details are in a separate photo.

Quidditch Through The Ages Book
This was the base for my son's birthday cake. It was a Harry Potter party so I made a book of "Quidditch through the ages". I know the original book was green, but I bought chocolate fondant so I took some artistic liberties. 9x13 cake covered in Satin Ice fondant and painted with NU Silver luster dust, with fondant accents and buttercream book title. The wax mark was made with fondant and I wrote "Property of Hogwarts library" using the Americolor black pen.

Roasted Turkey
Thanks to Mrs. Missey for her detailed instructions to make this cake. It's lemon cake with buttercream frosting. Ice cream cones were used to make the wings, egg shaped pans for drumsticks and breast. The dressing was leftover cake. Parchment paper frills. The lemon and lettuce are real. I fooled my father-in-law and sister in law!!

Baby Carriage
Baby carriage from Wilton level 2 class book. Buttercream with royal icing daisies (cake sparkles in the centers) and color flow face. The book has it in blue but the baby was a girl, and I figured with a pink background the little face wouldn't show as well. Also, this picture is not very good, for some reason it has a "yellow" tint, but the cake was more pastel-like, not neon-like :-)

Teddy Bears In The Pool
This has been one of the cakes that have gotten more compliments. Directions from the Womans Day website (Fun-In-The-Pool Cake). Its 2 8-in layers. The top one was hollowed out. I covered them all in buttercream and then made blue Jell-O using the quick-set method, filled the pool, and into the fridge it went until it was completely set. I used mini M&Ms for the tiles because I couldnt find Chiclets. Bears are Teddy Grahams that I decorated with royal icing. Toys and towels were made with assorted candy

Belle (Beauty And The Beast)
Using the tips from this website, I made this cake for my nieces birthday. All the kids (and even more adults) were transfixed by it. It was huge! Because I used a real doll (Barbie-size), the wonder mold wasnt tall enough, so I added an 9-inch round at the bottom. I didnt like the top ruffle I added at the end (the beads were too fat), but the rest of it looked great. Yellow is my nieces favorite color so the cake was lemon as well. All buttercream with cake sparkles for shine.

Captain Underpants
This was my son's birthday cake. He likes the Captain Underpants books, so I went to their website, looked through the available printouts and found this one. He got a kick that it says "happy underwear day" instead of happy birthday". Its an 11x15 cake topped with a full frozen buttercream transfer. Thanks to Cake Central for the tutorial on FBCT!
