15Th Birthday Cake
This cake was inspired by another 3 tiered cake on this site. Though mine didn't turn out as nice as the one on this site, I thought it did come out cute, and my daughter loved it. It is covered in MMF and the curls and balls are made from the same. I used concentric circle cutters to impress the fondant, and then used a mixture of luster dust and vodka to hand paint the circles. The inside was also very cute, white cake with a layer each of pink, green, and orange white chocolate buttercream frosting.

Spongebob Birthday Cake
I wish I would have gotten a better pic of this cake, but didn't think it as important as it seems now. I wasn't into cake decorating quite yet, this was one of my firsts, in 2004, for my son's 4th birthday. The cake is completely decorated with buttercream other than the blue of the eyes was cut from airheads candy. The nose was made days in advance of candy clay and left to dry.

First Fondant Cake
This cake was made for my daughter's friend as an experiment for my first fondant cake. Here, I used wilton fondants because I hadn't yet learned how to make my own. I had a great time making it and was shocked that fondant is so easy to use, though I also realized that the buttercream layer underneath is extremely important in the overall finish of the cake.
