# Sheet cake for 200 people

I have to make a sheet cake to serve 200 people. My full size sheet does not serve that many. What size cake do you guys recommend?? They do not want a stacked, they just want a plain sheet. I think I am going tohave a hard time trying to find a box to fit a sheet that big. Any ideas???? THANKS!!

An 11 x 15 sheet cake is 90 servings. So I guess I would do 2.

A 12 x 18 is 108 servings......... so again 2

With square or rectangle cakes, it's easy to just do the math to figure your servings.....

11x15 cake: 2x2" servings = cut columns/rows of 5x7 = 35 servings
11x15 cake: 2x3" servings = cut columns/rows of 5x5 = 25 servings

12x18 cake: 2x2" servings = cut columns/rows of 6x9 = 54 servings
12x18 cake: 2x3" servings = cut columns/rows of 6x6 = 36 servings

Using two 12x18 sheets pushed together to create a .....
18x24 cake: 2x2" servings = cut columns/rows of 9x12 = 96 servings
18x24 cake: 2x3" servings = cut columns/rows of 9x8 = 72 servings

These are based on a single layer cake. If you bake two layers, then you will probably cut the pieces into 1x3" pieces to yield different serving amounts.

My cake supply shop in town has a good supply of cardboards and boxes to fit the 18x24 size. Plus I own a masonite board that size.
Thank You!!
Ditto IndyDebi.....I use the same serving sizes (2x2)....so two 18x24's would work great and they could decrease the serving size by 1/2 inch or so to feed 200!
