We are doing a pastor appreciation day/ Birthday party for our pastor, I am in charge of doing the cake, any ideas on how to collaborate both of these themes into one cake?

Maybe a full sheet cake with a book pan cake on top (for a bible) and instead of writing something that came out of the bible, you can find a Birthday poem to add in the book..

Hi,

"Bumping up" is replying to a post so it will go back to the top of the forum so hopefully more people will see it and respond.

I am also making a pastor appreciation cake this week. I am thinking of doing a BCT of the famous "praying hands" on one side of the cake and a "stained glass" looking cross on the other side. I am also going to try to add a scripture to the bottom of the cake. HTH!

Thank you. I like that idea, are you doing it on the book cake pan or just a sheet cake? How are you going to make a stained glass cross, will you use colored piping gel or what do you use to get that effect?

I do not have the book pan, so I will just use a regular sheet pan. I am going to use the colored gel icing like this one. icon_smile.gif

Thank you. I really like this cross. I don't have the book pan either, nor do I have the cross, but it looks simple enough to carve out, although I've never done that yet. Thanks again. Misty

I don't have the cross pan either. I'm just going to draw it onto the cake. icon_smile.gif

Mistygaildunn,

Sorry I didn't know about this thread so I left my idea for your pastor appreciation cake on the other one. Sorry about that.

Why not a book pan with a cross on top? Or a sheet pan cake with cross.

Although the book/bible and cross ideas are great, I'd suggest doing something different. For my pastor appreciation/farewell cake. I did a thank you cake (in my photos), we concentrated on how great he is and how grateful we are for all the wonderful things he did.

I like that idea, but more for a birthday cake. I'm thinking of doing two different cakes, I really liked the stained glass cross cake, and I think I could do one of these maybe 6, 8, and 10 inch, or maybe since there isn't that many of us there, then i could just do two high instead of the three. I could make a cookie and write happy birthday on it. Thanks for the ideas, keep them coming, I've still got about a week, who know where I may be in ideas by them. I love this site, It's awesome.
