I saw this company on the "Dessert Expo" show on Food Network and so I thought I would check out their website. Once I got on there I saw 2 different wedding dresses made entirely of their special icing. I am intrigued by how flexible the icing is. icon_eek.gif

Now I have no interest in going into the edible wedding dress business, but I did think it was interesting. I will post the link, but you will need to click on the "SugarVeil Bride" and "SugarVeil Bride 2" slideshows. Take a look around the website. I have never seen anything like it. I guess they have a special icing, special tools and techniques I have never heard of.

Interesting!

I read an article in the ACD mag some time ago, apparently it atakes about 5 hours to apply this dress and all is edible except the tulle. The girl who wore it said it was extremely comfortable to move around it and even when she got warm it did not give or tear at all. I think its a hoot.

I could just see me sweating my wedding dress off. Yucky.

Could you sit down or would your dress stick to the chair? Let's just hope it isn't raining or the dress could just melt right off.

I am still torn on this one. On one hand I think it is a creative concept, yet it is a little disturbing.

I too saw this in ACD. I'm pretty sure it is just an advertiisng stunt so Sugarveil can show how flexible and versitile their product is. They aren't actually advocating anyone wearing an icing wedding dress for real--just the models at the tradeshows as an advertising focus. I wouldn't imagine you can sit down.... Still, it did get our attention. Wouldn't it be cool equipment to own?! So that makes it a very effective thing for them to have done. Kudos to their advertising agency! If it didn't cost a bunch.... and if I had steadier hands..... I'd run right out....

I saw this in the ACD magazine too! I thought it was great! They did the dress to show off at an expo. She had to wear it for 8 hours two days in a row! Wow!
I will definitely be getting one of these machines when I have the extra money. You can make lace designs with it or spider webs, etc. Once it dries you can pick it up and lay it how ever you want. Also, just the machine without the icing, you can use to pick up pearls and such to place on your cake right where you want them. I guess it has like a vaccum action on it.
Very cool,
Heather

Well one thing for sure, the wedding night would be interesting lol! Hopefully the future husband has a sweet tooth lol!!

It's very neat! I think you could do a lot of different things with this machine and icing just let your creative mind flow......
