AI have been asked to recreate this cake and the photo says it is from cake central. Can anyone tell me whose cake this might be? I need to ask for approval to do it as soon as possible! Thanks so much!

you don't need/have to have permission from a decorator to do a copy of their cake -- you would need permission to copy/use their picture -- if that's a copyrighted character then you need permission from the originator/owner of the character-- like ex. disney owns rights to mickey mouse -- i don't recognize that as a popular character but i don't recognize most of them these days - ha!

Yes, that's Mater from Cars--a Disney movie.  It's a copyrighted image that can't be recreated for sale unless you get permission from Disney............................

AHaha. I know who the character is, but the photo said that someone on cake central made the cake. I guess I don't really need their permission I just thought I would give credit to the designer of the cake! Thanks

Please note that K8 was telling you that you would need to get permission from the copyright holder (Disney/Pixar) to sell this cake.

That design for Mater has been done all over.. .by a lot of people. You wouldn't need to credit the cake designer, but since it is a copyrighted cake, you would need permission from Disney, if you are replicating their character on a cake in edible form... HTH!!

I am pretty sure if the cake is not being sold and only made for a family member then you would not need anyone's permission.

AI would just like to give credit to the decorator on my page. If someone thinks it was done for a family member do you know who they are? If not I give up:). Tried for a while:)

you can still say you were inspired by a great cake you saw on pinterest -- or something like that -- either way with or without
