There are many variations of this cake out there. Here is Crave's. :) There are two 8" layers of vanilla, with a layer of nutella on top. The pigs are fondant.

can someone tell me if these pigs are fondant or modeling clay or what? I will attempt to make these if I can find instructions. I will appreciate any info you can give me.

AI've done a couple of these cakes this summer, and made my pigs out of fondant with some tylose added in. I started my pigs about 4 days before the cake. I didn't have instructions for the pigs, just tried to recreate the picture I was given. The ears were the trickiest for me. I dressed up the hot tub with ribbon and some RI flowers at the base. Hope this helps. a

Thanks  so much. I will get some fondant and tylose. Can I get tylose at Michael's or Hobby Lobby? I just need to make a birthday cake for a little girl that is obsessed with pigs. Luckily her bd is not until oct 27 so I have time to play with it.

I have done this several times. Tylose is not necessary

As luck would have it there is a tutorial on the cc front page. I also will watch the tutorial suggested by siani. Thanks for all ya'll help. I can't wait to try this.

I made this cake during the summer. I made the pigs out of fondant and didn't add tylose as they were going to be eaten.

You don't need Tylose just use 50/50  that's fonfdant/gumpaste.

I made my piggies using wilton pink fondant. They came out so cute, I wish I could make a wedding cake with piggies on it. Thanks again for all ya'll help.

ABoth of mine for display only in high humidity conditions so the tylose was a precautionary measure. Glad to know there's a tutoria so canimprove the next one. l

AI made this for a fourth of July birthday and made my pigs from gum paste.

I made mine out of plain fondant last night. I think they taste better without anything added to the fondant, but that's just my opinion :)

Thank you! This was my first time doing pigs and cows, there is still A LOOOT of room for improvement :) but the latest tutorial here on CC was very helpful.

last time I did it I put a cowboy hat and sunglasses on the pig leaning against the side of the tub. I will see if I can find pictures
