This is my first post on here, (although I have been reading things on here for years)  so be gentle. lol... i'm not sure if i'm in the right area but I need help making Pumba for a Lion King cake. I found an amazing pic on here of one that I am trying to use for inspiration but for some reason I can't quite master the Pumba look. Mine just turn out to look like a possessed regular pig :(   I am wondering if anyone would have a tutorial or possibly some tips on making him. Please help! Thank you in advance for any help!

AI think before you actually go through trying to make that, you should consider something. Recreating characters is not something you should be doing. It's a violation of the copyright laws. Pumba is a Disney character..and if it's absolutely necessary I would consider ordering a toy or topper for the cake.

Well it was only for my own child so I didn't figure it would be a copyright violation problem as I wasn't going to be selling it.

AWell in that case, There is probably no realistic chance of you getting caught.IF you are in business though I would not take any pictures or use those in a portfolio. I know someone who made a replica of a popular brand name purse.she didnt sell that particular cake but It was on her website.

They came after her and hard. She ended up settling for about 400,000. It took everything she had.

This might help, her method I mean! It's for a Hello Kitty but can be applied to anything. She has some great info on her site.

Wow Morgan! That's an expensive lesson!!! I have customers who try to talk me into replicating a Disney or Pixar themed cake (I'll do backgrounds with toys-which I hate lol) but other people who bake legitimately and illegally in my area have all sorts of copyright violations on their FB or web page. I made them too before I realized it wasn't it wasn't legal. I hate having to explain that they arent legally allowed to do that and I always tell them it's to protect them as well as me. I just wish they'd stop! I'd rather be safe then have to go bankrupt!

Yes girl! It was a mess! They just chose to make an example out of her i suppose. Ever since that I just stand firm. Some customers try to push back. But the prospect of 400,00!!! It's just not worth it lol

I know I didn't answer your question OP, and I wasnt trying to rain on your parade. I just witnessed first hand how that can go horribly wrong. Didn't want it to happen to you too :)
