BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA! I am ignoring the "news radio post" after this one, and from now on, in my head, Jason quoted Nanny McPhee, LMAO!!!
BTW, I thought that movie was terrible, my husband and I necked like teenagers through the last half of it, we were so bored.
So... it was a good movie then? :)

Jason, I'm curious. Why don't you have an avatar?
Good question, it never really occurred to me to add one. I just added my current FB profile pic, me and my daughter Ally (2 years old).
AThere! See. Much better & a bit more personal. I bet your likability meter just spiked.
O.k..............I can't believe I've read through this entire thread. So far it's 6 pages of not saying much (but some crazy insight for us non-regulars) With all this crazy talk is it o.k. to tell you, I am VERY impressed that someone here still makes out at the movies?! But don't take that as an opening to pick on me.........

I already saw Jason on his Yelp profile. He was exactly how I pictured, I used to work with someone just like him. The only thing that surprised me was the wife and kid, with as much time as he spends on here.

Right, the 15-20 minutes a day I spend here on average really eats in to family time.
LOL! There is no freaking way it is 15 minutes, but whatevs...I have seen you say that 2 other times, but considering I just popped over to your profile and see you have posted 21-22 times in the last 24 hours, I find that incredibly hard to believe.

Believe it.
I tend to average around 2-3 minutes per post...some posts take 30 seconds, others take 5 minutes. 7100 posts/1100 days = 6.5 posts per day on average. 6.5 posts * 2.5 minutes per post = 16.25 minutes per day on average.

17, the day before, 12, the day before that, 7 day before that, 9 day before that, 16 day before that, 16 day before that, 3 a week ago, 12, then 14..... I can see being a fast reader and typist, but you also have to wade through the posts that don't pertain to you, such as baking, recipes, structure, design, and so on, seeing as you never touched the cakes in your wife's business, and it has be closed for longer than it was open.
I am not ashamed to admit that I am on here hours and hours most days. The first step is admitting you have a problem!

and it has be closed for longer than it was open. That's news to me...I've been keeping in touch with the new owner and the business has been doing quite well since we sold it in 2011 (2 years ago) after founding it in 2008 (3 years before that).
CC does provide its fair share of entertainment, and you'll be happy to hear that much of it comes from you. :)
AI thought you closed it for a while before selling it. I remember a post after your daughter was born saying you were glad you guy had taken a break from it.
But I'm just going by memory.

Correct, we did put the business on hold for a few months after our daughter was born. Luckily we had an excellent employee by that time so we were able to ramp up again pretty quickly...this was the same employee we ended up selling the business to when we moved out of the area.
I'm not really sure what this has to do with anything...

Just making conversation.
And since you've brought it up, can I ask about your business? Since you provide so much information, I'm curious about it. Did you say you operated out of a rented (time shared) commercial kitchen? If so, i'm curious about the value of the business if there were no real assets other than the name, recipes and website.
You don't have to answer of course, just curious.

The value of the business was in a significant inventory of ingredients, supplies, and marketing materials as well as the recipes and operational processes, but the most valuable piece was the customer base and associated trust/goodwill which is especially critical in our niche.
I bet Jason's wife doesn't mind him being on here a bit each day compared to shooting pool and swilling beer with the boys down the street...

I don't think I could justify paying that much to someone whose business experience was limited to a couple of years co-owning a small, short-lived bakery. That would be like my husband trying to charge the same as I do for making a cake. He doesn't have my skills or knowledge, but thought he did by being exposed to it... you should see the cake he made me last year (I LOVE it!)
*channeling Jimminy Cricket* I'm no fool, nosirree. I want to own a SUCCESSFUL bakery. I can seperate the wheat from chaff, cuz I'm no fool...

That's your prerogative of course...your inquiries were getting to the point where I would need to provide significant background material to help teach you the subject at hand, and I don't have time to do that for free.
BTW in the future I recommend at least trying to get all the facts before jumping to conclusions about someone's background. Founding the bakery was the culmination of my business experience, not the entirety of it. My background includes running my own web design and consulting business for 6 years in high school and college, working for the past 11 years as a business intelligence analyst and team lead supporting an enterprise resource planning system, and completing my MBA. I'm also good at using Google. ;)
Also I'm not sure a bakery that has been running for 6 years and is still going strong really classifies as "short-lived". It's a little sad that you feel the need to add these types of barbs to your posts.
AI don't see any barbs. You operated a home-based bakery for a couple of years until someone took over. His/her current success isn't a reflection of you, nor would their failure be, correct? So a couple years of ownership in my opinion is short-lived.
If you would like a barb, I could come up with something about your mother dressing you funny.
Not sure why when you question someone's background it's ok, but you get defensive when someone questions yours.

Again you are incorrect. The bakery I founded was based out of a commercial kitchen and was not home-based. The operational processes I put together to run the business are still in place and have not been changed, and I'm proud of its continued success.

When have I questioned someone's background?
And I'm not defensive, I'm just correcting erroneous information you have posted about me.
