Due to unforseen circumstances I had to move out of the place I was renting (long story) and my new place isn't ready yet. I have a good possibility of a temp kitchen, spoke with the lady today. I want to write up a written proposal for her. How much is reasonable to rent per hour without killing me (my biz is still new)? Like $10/hr or so? Should I offer some base amount so she always gets something whether I have an order or not?

Also, she mentioned about me making things to sell in her shop. Should those things be sold to her and then she is free to sell as she wishes? The only thing is that I want it to be known that I made those items. The main thing that I take issue with is that she doesn't want anyone there except me. My husband, mother and occasionally my uncle (who is a chef) help me (not all at once though) when I have large orders. I am not happy about all of this but I suppose I can at least operate in the meantime. I'll just limit my orders and hope I can move soon. Any advice/input is helpful. Thanks!

It really depends on the area and person but $10 sounds average and adequate. I hope everything turns out well.

Just be sure to get it in writing.

When can you be in the kitchen?
storage
supplies/materials
You will waste a lot of time carrying all your 'stuff' back and forth, but you don't want anyone in your stuff with you are gone.

Definitely sell the items to her. then if it doesn't sell, it isn't your problem, and you have your money.

maybe after you develop a relationship of trust, she won't mind if you have a helper?

I think I would try to get a flat fee worked out for the kitchen. I don't know about you but I can take hours to decorate one cake and if I'm paying $10 an hour then I wouldn't make a penny on the cake.

As far as selling your cakes I would give her a % of what you make. Not just sell them and have her sell them for what she wants.
