I have a regular white boxed cake mix, but need a chocolate cake for cakepops for a little boy this evening. What amounts of cocoa should I add to make it a very chocolate cake? I also have semi-sweet chocolate chips and lindt dark chocolate truffles at home. Cany any of them be added to give it a very chocolate taste?

Yes, you can add UNsweetened cocoa powder, dry, to your mix. About 1 cup for a very choco taste. You might have to increase the amount of liquid slightly. I have also often added chips but have never tried those truffles. Not familar w/them - aren't the rather large - much larger than choc chips?
I don't think it's a good idea, personally. I've tried it and still get the vanilla taste through or a dry cake with different texture from adding so much cocoa powder. just my opinion. but if you do it cut back on some flour to make up for all the extra dry in the cocoa and up the liquid a bit or add some sour cream
........ if you do it cut back on some flour to make up for all the extra dry in the cocoa and up the liquid a bit or add some sour cream.....
I almost said this also, but.......she is/was using a *mix* so you can't cut back on the flour
