Happy Holidays
I am thinking of doing farmers markets this spring. Cupcakes, Cookies, Push Up Pops and Pie Pops, does anyone sell these products and if so what is and average day of sales. Also how do you package your products. Any help or mentoring would be greatly apprieciated.

All markets are different. Check each markets' website and Facebook pages to see how many vendors participate and the goods they sell. Talk with the market managers about foot traffic and what licensing you need to be a vendor. Packaging can be simple to start - clear poly bags or containers, or fold-up bakery boxes. Also check to see what labels you'll need.Good luck!

I agree with MimiFix especially about the other vendors. There are several Farmer's Markets near me, all of them attract different crowds of people based on the vendors. One of the markets has high end vendors and does very well while a another one has mediocre merchandise and is struggling to stay open. Look to see which vendors draw the most customers and look for a spot near them. The cost to rent a booth or table varies not just from one market to another but from one location within a market to another. Obviously the busiest area at the market will be higher rent and you would have to determine how many cakes, cupcakes, etc you would have to sell to clear a profit.

Definitely research the venue and talk to other vendors. Some people I know do very well selling food items at Farmer's Markets others do poorly.

A friend of mine owns a jewelry store in an indoor Flea Market that is open year round. It took her 6 months until she began making money. The place she is at IMO, is overpriced for a booth.
