Okay, my niece came over today, all excited to tell me about her new job, decorating cakes/cupcakes at Sams Club.

Her first day there: She tells them she is experienced with buttercream, knows the tips and what they do... etc..

They try to show her how to fill a piping bag anyway.. she is like icon_confused.gif WTF?? Apparently the lady was making a huge mess.. so my niece takes the bag from the lady and says.. you fill it like this, to prevent the huge air bubbles. Lady asks where she learned to do that.. niece replies my aunt.

day continues.. niece is piping swirls on cupcakes.. The assistant manager comes over (same lady from above) and say... UMMM... you are doing those too neatly. icon_confused.gif Niece asks.. oh am I not doing them fast enough? The lady replies.. Oh you are doing them fast enough, just making them look to professional icon_lol.gificon_eek.gif

Bless my niece she looks at the lady and says... I learned from a pro.. and she taught me to have CAKE PRIDE. So, I cant in good conscience just slap on some icing and deliberately make it look like a 2 year old did it. So maybe I should start by working with the bread .. then with an evil grin. icon_twisted.gif she looked at the lady and said, My aunt also taught me how to make great breads. icon_lol.gif

She did bread the rest of the day.. and the manager came over later and said, "she is so afraid you are going to take her job, she's been doing these cakes for 3 years and you already know more than her, and you you have a steady hand when piping. Keep up the good work.

She makes me so proud!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

What a horrible lady.
But it sounds like your niece can handle it, though. Way to go thumbs_up.gif

What a great story! Actually, that line would make a great t-shirt...."CAKE PRIDE!" icon_biggrin.gif

Tesso, Sounds like your niece has inherited some of your moxie.

TerriLynn, I'll take one of those shirts in a large, please.

I thought you guys would find it as funny as I did. I'll show her your responses when she comes over this weekend. It will make her happy to see them. She was so blown away by the woman tellling her to "slop" the icing up.

Yes, I am very proud of her!!
