has anyone tried:4 eggs, 1/2 cup sugar,
1/2 cup dark syrup, 10 ounces butter at roomtemp.

I watched good eats yesterday and alton made this bc. any comments? icon_wink.gif

I have never tried it either, but I did see that show. I thought some of his techniques were a little out there, but I guess thats because I'm just used to my way of doing things.

I've tried it with so-so results. I think it was more operator error than his recipe and will definitely try it again. It was tasty.

My problem was that it was a little too runny. My butter was softer than room temperature to begin with, so that may very well have been the problem. I may also try taking out a bit of the syrup.
