I made it this weekend for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She loved it, and it was a hit.

I think it's extremely cute...must've been a ton of work!!! The background definitely puts me in the mind of dragon tales! Good work!

Thanks everyone. It didn't take that long. Baked it on Fr, during her naptime, and began to work on it at 10 pm, and finished it at 1: 30 pm.
I did the CT the day before, and that took few hr. I put the cake together about half hr before guests began to arrive. Till than tha cake was in the fridge.

Very cute. What was the rainbow made of?

Sorry, I meant to say I finished it at 1:30 am. (3.5 hrs)
The rainbow, sun, #2, all of the show characters around the middle of the cake, as well as the butterflies, snails, ladybugs, bumble bees, are all melted chocolate. I used Wilton chocolate melts in different colors, and their candy sticks.

Very, very cute!! I can see why she loved it! I did a Dragon Tales cake a couple of years ago and just made the "Cassie" character on top of a 1/2 sheet cake. I used the Cuddly Bear pan and turned it inot a dragon. It was quite the hit. If I had a scanner, it would be in my pics (it was the land before digital camera! lol!)

You did a great job on that--I love the rainbow out of candy melts. I wish I would have thought about that for my dd's Care Bear cake.

Thank you all. I really enjoyed doing it. In fact I would like to say thank you to all of you on this site for all your help till now. I became interested in cake decorating several months ago, out of bordom, and knew nothing about it. But your help and advice has helped quite a lot. Everything I've learned has mostly been from this site. This cake was a big hit, even my sister- in- law mumbled that it was a nice one, and she never talks to me, completely ignores me. She also decorates cakes, was trained in a grocery store bakery, and apparently has taken quite a lot of pictures of my cake, when I wasn't around. So I guess she liked it!
